Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people and reached superstar status through his pop-folk songs based on folk, most of which were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born musician and singer who fell in love with Colorado. A few took the road to Colorado due to Denver's famous anthems to his adopted state. I don't think there's anyone else who represents Colorado as well as John Denver said G. Brown curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. In 2011, Denver was named the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Today, he is Colorado's international image. On my trips I've encountered people who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell people you're from Colorado, the first words they'll say is"Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief career performing in small folk music bands included Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the tune for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized its potential after hearing it first. Following the performance in Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver recorded it just days later.
